I can't be the only one who derives tremendous satisfaction from doing this, right?

Also, it's like a little adventure or hidden treasure when you find a screen that seems to still have its manufacturer plastic on it for a considerably long time.

Like... mf, this hotel's been here for a decade, how has no one peeled this off the TV yet??

@deviantollam I prefer to peel it partway, then stick it back with a wrinkle or 5.
@deviantollam That's one way of dealing with jet lag.
@deviantollam also, best temperature evaaar!
@deviantollam that and also changing units to °C as it should be (if possible).
@deviantollam Is that celsius or do you just keep your room super cold?
@maxh we have different notions of what is "super cold" heh =)

@deviantollam

I was concerned that the temp would change.

@deviantollam I love doing that, but the first thing I noticed in the video is the wallpaper's awful almost-skin-like color and design.
@paramnesiac yes, like a parchment diploma
@deviantollam I bought a used polycom desk phone off of ebay recently that was a good deal cheaper than the other ones on offer but the listing showed a scratched screen. Didn't really care because it was just something to play around with and learn how they work. When it showed up it still had the factory plastic on and underneath was a pristine screen. That was probably the most satisfying peel I've had in a while.
@deviantollam I wish to believe the finest hotels in the world intentionally restick the plastic layer in every room, so that the next guest will get to experience a satisfying peel.
@litchralee would book if any property did that 👍☺️👍
@deviantollam don't forget to play some Barry White as you slowly take it off.
@deviantollam That looks and sounds like a harder plastic than I'd expect from a protective film - almost more like an intentional outer layer of the display.
That Peeling Feeling • r/ThatPeelingFeeling

A place to share in the unique joy that is peeling the plastic off of new objects.

@deviantollam I'm imagining housekeeping with a pack of screen protectors they are constantly replacing along with the little shampoo bottles.
@deviantollam
Yesterday, I opened the makeup mirror on my 3yo car sunblind for the first time ever (after all, I'm a bloke, we don't normally use them!) and found a yellow tag with a film attached - ahhh, such satisfaction!
@deviantollam I generally don't just to preserve the absurdity.
@deviantollam that’s so satisfying (to find, and do!)
