I have an issue.

I'd like to upgrade my phone.

My phone is currently Redmi 6, so it's outdated.
I would like to upgrade.

Good assignment, right? To what phone should I upgrade?

Personally, of course if you ask me, I would assure you I would buy an Android phone.

And that's true, until I actually see someone using an iPhone 15 pro max, in real life, right in front of my eyes.

Once I see that someone, I forget all red flags about Apple, the company, and the iPhone itself, and I (...)

want immediately to buy it.

Why? Because I like the model itself and the 15 pro max's lock screen and the way push notifications are shown - right at the bottom.

So, of course, to solve my problem, I need to find an Android equivalent to iPhone 15 pro max.

So, I spent months watching reviews by MKBHD , TheTechChap , SuperSaf , etc. And after all I'm confused. Why?

Because I heard rumors about phone reviews being paid behind the screens by companies behind the phones.

So, I made a (...)

list of phones that would probably satisfy me.

Here are they:

- iPhone 15 pro max (of course)
- Nothing phone (1/2/2a)
- Fairphone 5
- Samsung S24 ultra and higher

Now, you might be wondering: why do I want to buy an Android and not and iPhone? What stops me?

Well, first of all, I heard that iPhone is very limited comparing to Android. Like in terms of customization, etc.

I heard as well that Apple users are - please don't get mad at me, because I don't agree with following statement (...)

- ....idiots.

I personally don't think so.

You know, you should understand that - doesn't matter how crazy it sounds - I need a perfect phone.

Like, if you going to recommend me a phone, I will sure agree with you, but then I'll search for the cons of the phone and of course - who'd surprised? - I do find them.

I will already make clear that I removed from my wish-list the Samsung S24 Ultra, Fairphone 5, Google Pixel....anyways, all but Nothing Phone (1/2/2a) remains.

So, yeah. The (...)

reason? It's the closest one to iPhone 15 pro max model.

Actually, I'm not sure if it will be Nothing...

I heard red flags about Apple, Samsung, Nothing, Fairphone, Google Pixel....

Guys, I need your help.

Let me name features that I need in my phone:

- rounded corners (required!)
- medium size, like 15 pro max,
- different colors for back screen (like iPhone does)

- iPhone 15 pro max's lock screen and the way push notifications shown at the bottom

- the model should feel (...)

premium

- the OS should be designed very professionally like iOS 17.

- the phone is perfect and has no cons

Alright guys, it's your turn.

@expert I recommend you choose something and run with it. Choose anything. Flip a coin. There will be things you like and things you won't. Having decided will be better than dragging this out.

I say this as an expert overanalyzer.

@royal I'm not rich....I want to be sure that what I pick will be the phone I will like. So, I wouldn't be disappointed...

I do not want to flip a coin....my budget is $463 dollars, and I do not want to waste them...

You have to understand that I'm 17 years old (will be 18 this year!) and I don't have yet a job....one organization helps me to figure this question about a job out...

@expert Then I recommend you remove all phones you can't afford from your choices, and flip the coin again. You've done your research. You've found some phones that could work for you. It's better to decide. Or, decide to let a coin decide and determine to be at peace with the outcome. I have found that sometimes that is the very best way to resolve a dilemma like this.

@royal I'll probably will need to wait until I have a job, then work for it until I will $1K dollars, and buy for myself a Nothing Phone 2/2A. It's the closest one to the iPhone 15 pro max.

Thanks for tips :-)

@expert There you go. I also recommend you go into the final decision recognizing that no matter what phone you choose, there will be something you don't like about it. That's true for anyone with high standards! No phone is perfect, or could be perfect.
