Mima-samaThe #Philippines may forget #PeoplePower and #EDSA but #EasternEurope will not, especially #Poland where the #Polish people through trade unions like #Solidarity overthrew the #Soviet supported #dictatorship, which like ours was imposing a brutal #martiallaw. If not for #EDSA1, the peoples under the #IronCurtain / #EasternBloc will not have been able to oust their #communist regimes peacefully (for the most part). They will oust them all right; but there will be no inspiration to do it in a peaceful manner. The late 80s and 90s could've been bloody for all of Eastern Europe instead of being limited to a few.
There was even documentation IIRC of the #NationalDemocratic movement here in the Philippines providing support for the Polish resistance, despite the Philippine ND concept (different from the #NationalDemocracy of the Polish kind btw) being the brainchild of the #Communist Party of the Philippines. I don't remember where though, sadly.
