Remember everybody: The whole NY AG case against Trump began because Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, representing Queens & the Bronx, asked Michael Cohen if he had ever seen the Trump Org overstate assets to one audience and understate them to another.

This is what Congressional questions can do. It is a travesty that most members just rant for 5 minutes and then give witnesses 5 seconds to respond.

By chance, I was watching that testimony live. It was utterly bracing.

You could see that this member of the House had done her homework. She was the youngest Congressperson and was stll in her first year in office, but she did this.

I've watched this clip a few times but never watched the reactions. When she asked "who else would know this" and Cohen rattled off the names of three insiders, everyone who knows how criminal cases work could see exactly where this was heading. Look at those faces.
