Air Canada's chatbot gave a B.C. man the wrong information. Now, the airline has to pay for the mistake

Air Canada has been ordered to compensate a B.C. man because its chatbot gave him inaccurate information.

"It should be obvious to Air Canada that it is responsible for all the information on its website. It makes no difference whether the information comes from a static page or a chatbot."
@cigitalgem wait, airlines offer bereavement discount but expect a person who's in the middle of an emotionally traumatic event to know that and have the headspace to request it up front? That's a substantial amount of bullshit
@cigitalgem We are going through some sad dark days. Here’s to coming out of this on the other side a little bit smarter and more aware/wary of AI.
@outofcontrol I think it's kinda fun and exciting myself
@cigitalgem It is definitely fun and e citing, but less so when everyone and their cat are putting AI types tools into everything, sometimes with seemingly no forethought
@outofcontrol monkeys always do that. My first experience with that was when we injected the net into everything. Fun times.
