It is beautiful. Before industrialization caused habitat loss and climate change, skies were filled with birds. Did their movements then fill us with awe and delight?

This person cites Pliny the Elder and (via C.S. Lewis) Chalcidius as both commenting on murmurations. I imagine we've been in awe of this flight ever since the first humans saw it.

Agathe bleibt daheimThis is so beautiful! The birds are starlings and they do that where ever they meet so they won't be attacked by birds of prey. Here in Denmark in the marshland they call it "sort sol" and that means "black sun".
