Is it just me? When I talk on my #cellphone, I swear, my ear touching the screen "presses buttons" or even hangs up during a call. It's not always practical to talk on speaker, either. How do I set my phone so it ignores my ear but still responds to my fingers? (I know, this sounds like a joke, but I'm serious) πŸ“ž

@joejoetom Usually phones have a sensor to detect your face and the screen gets turned off when it's up to your ear. Maybe the sensor is dirty or not functioning properly.

What model is your phone?

Also, a trick you can try is to press the power button before putting it up to your ear. This will (usually) turn off the screen while you're on the call, unless you've set the power button as a hang-up button.

@FalconMarkSix OnePlus Nord N20. Unfortunately, when I press the power button (not set as hang up) during a call, if I then need to change the volume or bring the screen back up, any action at all will hang up the call.

@joejoetom I looked this up and apparently this is a common problem amongst a lot of OnePlus Phones. Maybe someone here has a solution for the Proximity Sensor acting up during a call.
