what to say about this one... it's my longest cover yet, at 4:26, but it honestly doesn't feel that long when i'm playing it? except when i get to the last part and my wrists are like help ma we're tired ðŸ˜
probably the hardest thing was trying to make all the disparate parts of the song make sense cohesively on the piano/expressively. for a few hours i didn't think i could do it, but somehow the magic of 💫practicing💫 and downtime came thru 🔥
and that's the lovely thing about this song - the melodies are written to mean different things: "we were only seven" "now we have you, have you" "and we got to heaven" are all different only by one note. "yeah we are not seven with you" builds on all 3 and extends it. it's such pleasurable songwriting
now that i've broken the song down for myself and lost myself in the flow of playing it... right now i think this is the song i most want to see live and be brought away by it. i know i'll cry.
