#GreatAlbums1980s - #IronMaiden – Killers (1981). Improved production by Martin Birch and the addition of Adrian Smith on guitar made this a tighter affair than Maiden's first album. Singer Paul Di'Anno adds an abrasive edge to songs like "Wrathchild," "Murders in the Rue Morgue" and "Killers," making his brief tenure a crucial part of the Maiden legacy. One unsung highlight, "Prodigal Son," contains prog affinities that would become more prominent as the group developed.
