The European Space Agency has adopted two ambitious space science missions: Venus voyager #EnVision and gravitational wave surfer #lisa .

The 'adoption' step recognises that the missions' concept and technology are sufficiently advanced, and gives the go-ahead to build the instruments and spacecraft. Both spacecraft are planned to launch with an #Ariane6

#GravitationalWaves #GlasgowUniversity

The Institute for Gravitational Research is heavily involved in the #LISA mission. Along with the UK Astronomy Technology Centre in #Edinburgh, we will be leading the manufacturing of the optical benches of the LISA spacecraft - the heart of the measurement system. This follows on from the optical components manufactured in #Glasgow for the #LisaPathfinder mission.

More detail about the Glasgow group and the LISA mission can be found at https://www.gla.ac.uk/schools/physics/research/groups/igr/research/detectors/lisa/
