11 Best Metal Albums of 1984

One of metal's best years?

Loudwire

@TheMetalDog Oh man...Metal Church that year too. Armored Saint's debut. Dokken's 'Tooth & Nail'...Deep Purple's Perfect Strangers... Manowar's Hail To England, Exciter's "Violence and Force", VoiVoid's "War & Pain", and Slyer's "Haunting the Chapel"...and Van Halen's 1984 too

I was sixteen, just catching the metal bug two years prior, in a high school band with my buddy Ross, who would go on to be the front man/bass of death metal greats Immolation...

1984 was truly a magical metal year

@Theblueone
We were all trading tapes like crazy that year, and a few surrounding it.

@TheMetalDog Yes! I still have Testament's demo somewhere around, when they were called "Legacy"...and some old Hellhammer cassettes too...

@TheMetalDog And don’t forget the ‘zines…
@TheMetalDog …with the Reader’s Poll results from… 1984!
@TheMetalDog #4 best female singer there was Maryann Scandiffio from NYC’s Black Lace. A few years later her brother was the singer in my band… (L:Me, R: Richie Menace/Scandiffio RIP)
@TheMetalDog @Theblueone Scorpions had Love At First Sting ... Whitesnake released Slide It In ... Rush with Grace Under Pressure ... Triumph's Thunder Seven (underrated IMHO)
