Name an 8-bit game that triggers instant nostalgia. I'll start... 😁

Treasure Island. The Commodore Plus/4 was my first computer and this was one of the bundled games that I played the most. I’ve still never actually beaten it.

Below the Root: A story, a computer game and my lifelong obsession

This 1984 computer game inspired my art and made me what to be a programmer The original box cover that contained the diskettes, map and manual. Another great example of how video-game art in the 80s never looked like the game. Very cool. I always enjoyed Below The Root, and was surprised the game didn't get more notice. I also had no idea there was a hidden level editor in the game. Fascinating.
@Gamemaster_ @yawning_angel We also had the Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass game made with the same engine. I think there was one more, but I can't remember the setting!
@Gamemaster_ @yawning_angel Very much the same sort of game as LucasArts games later became, but for lower-powered hardware. @scummvm

@yawning_angel #ManicMiner (sorry, no photos) though it took me a while to get that on my Speccy (had to save up for the 48K memory expansion) so #JetPac is right up there too.
@pdcawley Same... Jetpac on my 16 Speccy until I got the 48k one.
@yawning_angel so many to choose between. i'll just pick one excellent blast from the past, dynablaster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWyTDXFPC84

@tomasekeli I still play it. Awesome game.
@yawning_angel the only 8 bit games I’ve tried were on the Atari collection on ps1
@yawning_angel The first BBC Micro game I ever bought was Acornsoft Monsters in early 1983.
@yawning_angel Tunnels of Doom. To this day my #TTRPG friends make fun of me for counting wounds up, rather than damage down.
