A distant view of one of Iceland's highest waterfalls here, with a car towing a caravan in the bottom right to help with the sense of scale. This is Grundarfoss and that drop is seventy metres. Grundarfoss is close to the town of Grundarfjörður on the northern coast of the incredibly beautiful Snæfellsnes Peninsula.

I love Snæfellsnes

@haiku_shelf It's a fabulous part of a fabulous country.
Which time of year is shown here?
@savvdm That was July 2022. Overcast here and not too warm, but on the southern part of the peninsula on the same day it was bright blue sky and we were in t-shirts while exploring the coastline.
Thanks! So I assume, most of the snow on the hills will probably disappear in August, and the water flow in the waterfall will be smaller?
@savvdm I couldn't say for sure. I think a lot of the snow and ice is pretty much permanent all year round, though, and I've seen videos of this fall in August and September and it still looks very powerful so I suspect you wouldn't be disappointed.
It is probably similar to Norway, where the waterfalls are at their best in June (and in May it is still too much snow all around).
