Can anyone help me get my #cat to eat prescription kidney food?

The vet prescribed her a kidney diet at our last visit. Problem is, this is a super finicky cat. The 'mix it with stuff she likes' approach doesn't work; if her food smells different from normal she will pass it up no matter how hungry she gets. It's like putting an unacceptable food in front of someone with ARFID.

I bought a bag of #purina prescription kidney diet dry food because she happily eats regular Purina #catfood but no dice. The kibbles are small and so dry and hard that she has trouble crunching them. Adding water doesn't seem to help. 2/

I bought a bag of #hillssciencediet dry #catfood k/d, which she nibbled a bit but when I mixed it with her usual food, the #cat ate around the Hills pieces.

I bought some #hillssciencediet k/d canned food, both the large cans with #pate texture in chicken flavor and the single serving cans in chicken with veggies. She ate one can of the single serve a bit reluctantly, licked the second before turning up her nose at it, and left the paté from the big can to just dry up rather than eat it. She made an attempt at the tuna flavor but then gave up on it.

I can't get #prescription #catfood in anything smaller than a full sized bag or a flat of 24 cans and I cannot justify buying that much #petfood at a time just for a taste test. I cannot fimd a place near me that sells #royalcanin prescription diet and even then I expect they'd still insist that I buy a whole flat or a full sized bag at once.

Do I have any alternatives? How can I take care of my #cat's kidney needs if she won't eat the stuff?
