I worked at AOL 96 -> ‘05 and for a while there during the run up we all thought we were doing such transformatively good work that we would all be infinitely rich for ever, and saviors of humanity via connecting the world. It wasn’t true but did prep me for the housing bubble and the zero interest rate tech bubble.
