@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] The runtime license is not that uncommon, both Apple, Google, Microsoft and Sony takes a cut (30%) of a developers revenue on (some of) their platforms. If you are working in a small niche, you cannot do things the same way that, say, Apple who has millions of developers over a barrel in market with literally billions of customers who has nowhere else to go.

I've used Linux and MacOS for so long that I forgot just how crappy the Windows 'experience' really is. I'm still surprised at how many of my students: a): run MS as their primary OS b): are okay with adverts on their desktop I think I need to make this another conversation when the semester starts up again.
