Something a little different uploaded for #charactercreationchallenge2024.
Over twenty years ago, #GamesWorkshop released #Inquisitor, a #Tabletop #Skirmish #Game where #players pit small groups against each other represented by massive #54mm #Scale #miniatures.
The game ended a few years later. Back then, I believed it was due to poor sales, and thought about how it could have been saved.

As I said, yesterday, I once thought #GamesWorkshop killed off their #tabletop #skirmish #game #Inquisitor due to poor sales (NOW I know it was because #GW shut down ALL their #SpecialistGames).
Asking myself how it could have been saved, I decided (erroneously) that the mistake was setting it in the #warhammer40k #setting.
So I picture WH40K as if made in #Japan.
The answer for me then seemed obvious; make a #54mm #miniature game NOT tied to #wh40k but its own thing in particular.
The #pitch was: Sometime in the #farfuture, five #Starsystems were #colonized by #JapaneseNationalists; people who #Romanticized #Shogunate #Japan and were swept up in a movement to reclaim their perceived golden age.
Flash forward an unspecified amount of time, and the five systems are unified into a #hightech shogunate. Each system is ruled by a #Daimyo, who answered to the #Shogun of the #Fuji system.
At least they used to, until just before the game starts, when Fuji's Star went #Novae.
Basically no one knows what happened but each of the four Daimyos suspect the other three is behind it.
Finishing the pitch: #Players would play #Agents of the #Daimyo for one of the four remaining #starsystems (named Daisen, Kanpo, Nii-Jima, and Aira).
These Agents (and their #henchmen) are tasked with investigating what happened to the Fuji system and which Daimyo is responsible.
Oh, and the fact that ALL these systems were named after #volcanoes from #Japan? Just a coincidence, I'm sure
Which brings me back (finally) to today's upload for #charactercreationchallenge2024.
The character from #yesterday was a #Daymio`s agent, a #scifi #samurai.
Today we have one of his #henchmen, inspired by the #hero of the #ShenmueVideoGame. Descended from the native species of one of the systems, he`s a #martialartist hunting the murderer of his father (and the mother of the #cat pictured with him, it`s a Shenmue #reference).
And yes, he IS looking for ¨#sailors¨ (#Yakuza #Astronauts).
