HOTCHKAActor David Soul has died at 80 after a long illness. Soul is best known as the Hutch half of "Starsky & Hutch", and for his starring role in the TV mini-series "Salem's Lot". Soul's breakthrough role was in the 1968-1970 series "Here Come the Brides" after guesting on shows like "I Dream of Jeannie" and "Star Trek". Clint Eastwood cast him in "Magnum Force" which led to the role on "Starsky & Hutch". 1/2
He took on the Humphrey Bogart role in a TV series adaptation of "Casablanca", and was part of the cast of primetime soap "The Yellow Rose". Soul later gained British citizensship and appeared on UK series "Dalziel and Pascoe", "Poitot" and "Inspector Lewis".
