@BibbleCo @verge Disney's got Mickey as its logo, a cult following on it, and several titles still out (like kids shows, cartoons and comic books), so it's still in production and they're gonna milk the mouse for as long (and in any way) they can.

@JimmyLaRosa @verge I’m no law expert, but I believe as long as it doesn’t seem like Disney have made whatever someone decides to make with the Steamboat Willy version of Mickey Mouse, then I don’t think Disney can do anything about it.

@verge I think Disney realized that this wasn't a fight worth the cost. Too many people hate them right now, extending it again (which they absolutely could have purchased) could cause a backlash against the whole concept of copyright.

Okay, du hast recht. Mickey sollte übrigens zuerst 'Mortimer Mouse' heißen, aber Walt Disneys Ehefrau fand den Namen nicht passend.

Die Stimme von Minnie Mouse in dem Tonfilm wurde übrigens von Walt Disney selbst gesprochen.
