Can’t believe they’re going to roll 2024 out to Production late on a Sunday, right before a public holiday, without testing it in Staging, and without fixing any of the bugs in 2023

@juglugs

Well, it's what they did with Liz Truss' cabinet...

#ukpolitics

@mkarliner @juglugs And look how that worked...

@gnaddrig @juglugs

And now they've reverted to an earlier commit that didn't work very well either.

(Cameron)

@mkarliner @juglugs That is what happens if you keep patching the bits currently on fire without identifying and fixing the root cause of whatever problems your system has...

@juglugs No service or emergency hotline either.
@juglugs It is always the same BS reason: 'deadline is deadline'. I expect a lot of crashes, if it doesn't just overheat the hardware and burns it down completely at some point. We need to downgrade.
@juglugs
I wonder what is happening in their reviews and retrospectives.
Or do they still use waterfall? If so, I’d like to see the specification.
@juglugs I think they skipped the UAT for good reasons.

@juglugs

It’s going to be a shit show by design.

How do we know this?

It’s the same producers that brought us Everybody Loves Raymond.

Plus, Republicans are in charge.

@juglugs a consultant once told me in a planning that we could test in production. Everything else ā€žis just unnecessary workload that creates costā€œ. Well that was the point I made another security backup and an hour later the whole system went down - that’s why I’m sceptical about some consultants and outsourcing (or ā€žpartneringā€œ as some companies call it now)

@s151910 @juglugs

Ah yes, SII methodology. Great when it works, which is pretty much never.

SII = Slam It In (no testing)

@juglugs yeah, CI/CD ain't what it's cracked up to be.
@juglugs
I've been on hold with customer relations for four hours now...they have 'Flowers' by Miley Cyrus on an endless loop.

@juglugs

And the technical debt keeps mounting.
