Israel has to care about world opinion because they are not self-sufficient.
Anti-semitic statements that were once confined to the "Nazi bars" of the Internet are now everywhere.
Israel is in trouble, whether they admit it or not.
Actually they do care about world opinion. Israel isn't one of the states party to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ie. accepts ICC jurisdiction) but they're going to the Hague to defend themselves anyway.

Well as long as they're not reducing troop numbers because of pressure from other countries over the +20,000 non-combatants that Israel has slaughtered in revenge atrocities then that's OK I guess.
