@BellaCaledonia I avoid the flummeries of ceremony, but this in the article by #GeorgeGunn was amusing: "King Charles III ... did not touch [the Honours of Scotland] because if he did he then would have had to take the Scottish Coronation Oath which he would not have liked, incorporating as it does The Claim of Right which is an invitation to the sovereign people to challenge any legislation they thought impinged on their rights. Not the monarch, but the people have the last say."
