Why do people not call The #MansonFamily #Terrorists more often?

They were a deranged #cult with a mostly incoherent political ideology BUT so are (so called) Islamic State #ISIS / #ISK / etc. and they are always called terrorists?

To me the Manson Family seem a lot like ISIS, just smaller and less "successful"

It's not JUST #racism because white Americans do get called terrorists if they bomb things.

But it's not the lack of bombs, because the examples being used to label #Hamas et al. as #Terrorists are things that look A LOT like what the #MansonFamily did.

Is there any pattern to it at all?
