Got home late enough from work night out that I didn't even listen to yesterday's taalem advent before just buying it and going to bed. But I'm sitting listening to today's advent entry now - "infidel part 2" by Nullkommajosefh, which hits a good number of my particular sound buttons. Drifty, tinge of noise, stray elements of mystery.

@remotevoices It's a good one, isn't it. I'm following the advent avidly.
@Neverfadingwood I'm finding this year there are more that I already have, but we've had a good run in the last week where we are getting stuff I don't know, which is a pleasure.
@remotevoices Oh that's good, I think most of it is new to me so far, but it's a very consistent label, I think, quality control wise.
@Neverfadingwood i think this is my 3rd or 4th advent, so one tends to build up a colleciton. and yeah, the guy behind it clearly has a specific focus for the sound he is going for. i assume you've downloaded the free "homework" collections? those are another wealth of material.
@remotevoices I hadn't actually, only "homework 7". Rectifying that at this moment. Thank you for reminding me.
@Neverfadingwood i have a "homework" playlist on my phone/mp3 player, just made up on the 7 volumes, i expect (going by tradition) there should be an 8th volume soon.
@remotevoices Yes, I imagine there'll be a number 8 soon. I'll dig into the first six, though. I'm sure there's lots of good stuff there.
I got all the releases on the Bandcamp daily list of top field recordings of 2023. Some wonderful stuff there.
@Neverfadingwood I assume you've caught me mention the field recordings podcast? i should check out the daily list, i've fallen out of the habit of surfing bandcamp as much as i used to. probably factor of just how much email i get every day - though been trying to cut that back, some folk are too guilty of email bombing folk (and i don;t think they even really realise they are doing it)
@remotevoices Oh yes, I get a ton of email from Bandcamp. I couldn't possibly afford to keep up with all of it. I recommend the daily roundup of 2023 field recordings though. I've got all those releases now, and they're fantastic.
I shall be spending the evening in "homework" territory though.
@Neverfadingwood cool. enjoy. i'm currently trawling dragon eye's archive, since they have a 40% off sale.
@remotevoices I don't know them, but I trust your judgement. I'll give them a look. Thank you.
@Neverfadingwood very ambient/soundtrack, they are kind of cusp of my taste on some level, some of it works for me, some less so, so trying to gauge what is what. code: thatwentquick
