Psion

@thelastpsion

Anyway, I've managed to run Infocom's "A Mind Forever Voyaging" and Forth on the S3A emulator.

@thelastpsion

It's amazing what you can do in 64 kB code + 64 kB data.

@alexshendi I'm looking forward to pushing the boundaries!
@alexshendi @thelastpsion I've had a load of handheld devices over the years (ran PDA Handyman, so yeah) and even got a few from Psion, but I've always wanted a 5mx Pro. Never managed to and now my wife would kill me at the prices they're going for these days :)
@tkn @alexshendi I was lucky - my mother-in-law gave me her practically mint 5mx. They go for silly money!

@thelastpsion @tkn

I have 2 5mxes and a 5.

I guess that makes me a PDA billionaire.

The touch screen on one 5mx doesn't work anymore. Probably an issue with the ribbon cable.

@alexshendi @tkn On any clamshell Psion, if it's not the hinges, it's the ribbon cables.

@tkn @thelastpsion

The 5mx Pro was the one where you could load the the OS from CF?

@alexshendi @tkn Yep. I don't know much about them, but I think there was a tiny ROM that would act as a bootloader for the CF.
@alexshendi @thelastpsion I don't know about that, but I used to run BSD from a CF card on a Psion Netbook Pro, which natively ran Windows CE from the ROM. I donated it to one of the maintainers for testing. I sometimes wonder if it's still working somewhere :)
