If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, gun reform, universal child care, and a living wage.
The right-wing agenda isn’t about “life.”
It’s about control.

This country is pro-patriarchy.
Somebody - can't remember who - said they're not "pro-life", they're fetus fetishists.
Once the kid is born, they don't give a damn if it lives or dies.
Seems right to me.

@rbreich And if Republicans wanted to really reduce the incidence of abortions while being pro-life, they'd find out why women have abortions and then build social supports to help women stay out of situations where they need abortions.
That would be truly pro-life, would reduce abortions, and would be pro-women.
But it wouldn't be controlling women's lives so they won't do this.
@rbreich (chuckles) it’s only pro-life until birth, and so long as it affords denying a woman the ability to make choices for herself.
Once the child is born its life is of no interest of theirs and the state, nor the moral majority, has no interest in how it develops or contributes to society. Though they are sometimes used as pawns in games of leverage to define how other people should live their lives.
