Marie-Claire Messouma is a creator of links, between cultures, countries, generations, and materials, mixing in her works the natural and the industrial, the precious and the common, thus sublimating the ordinary. The status of the artist’s works is plural, sometimes cartographies or protective totems, they also seem to take on...
Masha Reva na Instagramie: Last time when I’ve seen Ukraine.I took these photos from the car, on my way from Uzhgorod to Berlin yesterday .We packed our van with around 150 works we did with Ivan during last month and started our way at 5 AM. The route ran through beautiful serpentine road in Carpathian Mountains .We drove more than 1000 km in one day.Stepping out of the car in Berlin after 12 hours ride felt surreal, after two month in Ukraine witnessing the war I can’t believe that peaceful life still exists. But it does.Just 1000 km away , half of the day ride from constant air raid alerts and bombing people are living their lives and I can only hope that they would never feel the same as I do, as all Ukrainians are .But honestly I would like them to know that the war is closer than they think . And the difference between peaceful sky and sky full of danger is crucial. The landscape changed along the way and I can feel that my heart forever remained in Ukraine, under it’s open sky. It stayed with my land and its people who definitely don’t deserve being killed and tortured by russians like any other human beings but are brave enough to fight back .I know that humanity has a power to stop this war, people have the power to demand it.Please do it in any possible way.See you at our exhibition Under The Open Sky , 28.04 at 17.00 at @ngoro_ngoro It’s a charity event initiated to help Ukraine in its fight for freedom. Abdoulaye Konaté, born in 1953 in Diré, is one of the great figures of plastic arts in Africa. He uses tapestry, dressmaking, painting and sculpture, making fabric his main creative material. Two main directions emerge from his work. The first, conscious and committed, addresses different themes related to contemporary society and the human condition, with…

By using a broad range of techniques, including ballpoint pen, bleach, lead, paint, and photographs, Deiana’s works offer the viewer a commentary on the way in which our increasing dependence on the computer and its simulacra has eclipsed the primacy of human relationships.

Primarily based in Hong Kong, Choi Yan-chi was inspired by the first-generation contemporary Hong Kong artists such as Lui Shou-Kwan (1919-1975) and Hon Chi-fun (1922-2019). Her passion for contemporary art led her to acquire a BFA (1976) and an MFA (1978) in painting from the...

Warhol / Basquiat The first time that these Warhol/Basquiat collaborations were shown in 1985 was at Tony Shafrazi’s gallery with the now famous poster of Andy and Jean-Michel dressed as boxers announcing a prize fight. Peter Brant reminded me of this great show and so with his encouragement, David Grob...
12 x 2 x 2 inches The Mummified Barbies acknowledge Barbie as an icon, as idealized and exaggerated as any mythological depiction of Venus or Aphrodite. By concealing the attributes and accessories that characterize her image, I aim to locate Barbie in a long history of glamorized feminine figures. Wrapping and silencing this vivacious action figure into a phallic totem, we have a chance to see her more objectively. Mummifying and shrouding Barbie literally ties her to ancient and ongoing cultural practices of fetishizing the female form. "Mummifying" Barbie has been a long-term project that plays with preserving her unearthly proportions by concealing them eternally. -E.V. Day "Mummified Barbies are E.V. Day's ongoing multiple project, exploring western cultural ideas surrounding beauty and the often obsessive quest in contemporary society to preserve female beauty. Ironically, as Day mummifies or preserves the Barbies, their stereotypical beauty is concealed, and their iconic figure is transformed into something more playfully subversive." -Andrea Cashman
Veronica Ryan (b. 1956, Plymouth, Montserrat) is acclaimed for her sculptural assemblages that respond to and reflect the natural world. Making reference to fruits, seeds and vegetables, as well as the modular trays in which they are stored, Ryan’s work sits at a midpoint between opposing principles: interior and exterior, absence and presence, material and object memory.

Я начинал цепочку-выставку в июле и эта работа была про жару. Потом я стал оставлять внутри своей цепочки длинные паузы, и вот последняя работа еле успела в 2023 год. Прошу прощения за подмороженное повествование.
