It's time for my #running session but it rains heavily. Trying to find the motivation 😭😭😭
@s1m0n4 Running in rain is one of my favorite things but yes it takes some (or a lot of) courage to leave the door :) Hope you have proper gear!

@lrz I have waterproof jacket and shoes. I don't mind getting wet on my legs if it's not too cold (and today it wasn't cold). The right gear makes all the difference!

Getting out is the most difficult thing. If it starts pouring while I'm already running it's not such a big deal as if I'm about to leave the house.

Funny how my mind can play such tricks!

@s1m0n4 @lrz Oh goodness is that true. Lacing up the shoes when it's pouring buckets outside somehow feels slow and dramatic like I'm off to my doom. Then, once I'm out, wet, and moving, it's fine.

@WTL @s1m0n4 in my experience the mind will play all sorts of tricks to not work out :) sometimes beating the mind is more challenging than the actual workout!

For running so far it’s easy as I love it, but I alternate with strength training and I hate every second of these and some days it’s hard (like yesterday) but I also know that once it’s done I will be feeling better…

@lrz @WTL @s1m0n4
I love running in the rain and have been known to wait until it STARTED before going out 😹 Makes me feel heroically alive.
But I should do more strength and stretch stuff and the only way I can do that is by reminding myself how it helps future me running without injury.

Right now, it’s all about just getting the miles in before year’s end. *This* close to 1000miles again… screw the strength training right now 🤣 but I’ll go out in all weather to get my miles in.

@tinebeest @WTL @s1m0n4 1000 miles is so 💪💪💪 It’s too late for me this year but next year hopefully
@lrz @WTL @s1m0n4 Join me on fetcheveryone.com for easy tracking if that’s your goal! It’s honestly the best running/exercise log site you’ll ever lay eyes on + it’s free and GREAT with data privacy, not to mention superfriendly. #FetchFam Cool visuals for my targets and stats for my monthly totals etc have *Totally* kept me in reach of my second year at 1000miles 🙌🏻
@tinebeest @WTL @s1m0n4 nice will definitely create an account and check it out! thanks for the pointer
@tinebeest @lrz @WTL I'm not a big fan of tracking and data collecting. I use the PUMAtrac app (free) for tracking my running sessions and I tried some of the workouts available there. Usually I just plan my workout sessions myself, according to my goals. At the moment I want to improve push-ups, pull-ups, double-unders, core and prevent calf injuries (a recurring issue, unfortunately 😭). I don't have room for anything else right now
@s1m0n4 @lrz @WTL I understand! I just like that it keeps me motivated with a little squiggly line that inches forward to my goal, but I used not have goals like that. And Fetch syncs automatically with my Garmin, that’s really nice.
@s1m0n4 @tinebeest @lrz But … my spreadsheets … 🤣
@WTL @tinebeest @lrz 😂😂😂 I'm outdated, I know!
@s1m0n4 @tinebeest @lrz Bah, I don't know about that - we're all different and that's *okay*!
@lrz also: love your Jiji the cat picture 😻
@tinebeest haha it's my favorite ghibli movie :)
