Door 11 of the #whiskyadvent calendar opened on a tasty PX cask English whisky, and #SSAC2023 day 11 is a short story-not-story by Alexander Weinstein.

The whisky, Gulliver's 47 PX Cask, is a single malt, NAS at 47%ABV, matured in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The nose is plummy/raisin-y, molasses, and orange peel; plum pudding, chocolate, and warming spices on the palate; and a finish with more of that spice. Still not overly sweet, despite those notes, this is a pretty high-bang-for-buck at £78 a bottle, if you like sherry finished whisky and happen to be in the UK (sadly, doesn't seem to be available in the US.)

The "story" is written as a collection of art exhibit summaries, with an absurdist bent that poke fun at performance and abstract art, art criticism, and even the notion of artist-as-troubled-mind. Had a few solid chuckles reading this one.

Kris has been starting to decorate for Christmas, so I availed myself of the ready backdrop.
