Milky Way will probably devour all the tiny #galaxies that surround it
Based on data from #ESA's Gaia mission, it was found that many dwarf galaxies that were orbiting #MilkyWay only a few BYA have ended up destroyed after being pulled in by our much more massive galaxy. It is possible #darkmatter has something to do with this. By identifying galactic remnants, they determined that most #dwarfgalaxy remnants within the Milky Way only entered it within the last 3B yr or so
