Any thoughts on flair espresso makers?

@clementd I like my #Flair58, even if it took me a few uses to get the hang of it:

I do not like that it gets dirty easily and is too tall for my kitchen. But I have a lot of control over the shots.

Happy to answer questions.

Attached: 1 video Because this particular manual lever espresso maker likes to self-disassemble the plunger / piston while pulling a shot, the shot mirror became a necessity so I could keep an eye on the brew cylinder, pressure gauge, and extraction at once. Video is silent because all you can hear is the angry stovetop steamer. #coffee #espresso #Flair58

@aardrian Thanks! I'm mostly a pour-over guy who wants to try espresso with minimal commitment (money & counter space).

What's the driving decision between eg pro 2 and 58?

@clementd Ah, then the 58 is likely not a fit for you.

I opted for the 58 because it uses the standard 58mm portafilter, which means I can use existing gear with it. If you don’t have a pile of expensive stuff for that size portafilter then really no reason.

@aardrian Ah how could I miss that
@aardrian Like a stand, fancy rotary WDT thingies, tampers
@clementd Exactly. I may be a bit too invested.
