Along with setting up Sway as my FreeBSD desktop, I've setup these desktop tools:

* Terminal: foot
* Status bar: waybar
* Dynamic menu: rofi-wayland
* Notifications: mako
* Screenshots: grimshot
* Lockscreen: swaylock
* Theme: nordic-theme
* Icons: papirus-icon-theme
* Fonts: firacode, ubuntu-font

@dwarmstrong I’ve heard good things about https://regolith-desktop.com from ex sway users, may be worth a glance. I keep meaning to, but have other fires (grumble sssd)

Outside the big desktop environments like GNOME/KDE, it sounds like Sway is one of the better supported wayland compositors.

Coming from a minimal, customized X11 window manager (Openbox) its been a pretty smooth transition from one desktop to the other.

What has taken considerably more time and tweaking is replacing X11 utilities with wayland equivalents.
