Morning morning! (Well, close enough!) I hope everyone's got their caffeine/not caffeine of choice!

It's bright clouds out today, so I'm trying to find chill games for the stream (I need to pick a launch date already) and drinking Assam milk tea because sometimes you just want the classics every day in a week!

@MondayMoon I’ve introduced two friends to the creamy wonders of Assam here #converts #Tea

@Jackietango That's cool! But can I ask why you sent me an invite to mastodon.social? Mastodon.art's pretty spiffy!
@MondayMoon I’m not on mastodon art
@Jackietango Wait, are you possibly new to how instances work? Or is there something else I'm missing?
@MondayMoon yeah. Friend of mine is explaining it to me now too. I might change to mastodon.books as I do book reviews a lot. Still deciding. I don’t do art much
@Jackietango Okay that makes more sense! And I don't know anything about mastodon.books but I hope you find an instance you like! But yep, all the instances can chat with each other unless they've defederated or are being limited/suspended, no migration needed!
@MondayMoon Yeah I’m loving the setup with the hashtag searching. It’s a fine community here.
@MondayMoon I know YouTuber but what’s a vtuber?

@Jackietango Sure! You've probably seen them around but just not seen the name? It comes from 'virtual YouTuber' but now generally refers to anyone who does livestreams/videos using an avatar! (Commentary YouTubers who use PNG files, even ones that move and talk, are a different style, and folks who use a 2D avatar usually call themselves PNGtubers. I'm building a 3D avatar, so it's a vtuber model!)

Here's more info to get you started! https://www.polygon.com/videos/2023/8/10/23827568/what-are-vtubers-explained

What are VTubers?

VTubers are entertainers who use face, body, or voice tracking to puppeteer a digital avatar — most often an anime character — and they’re exploding in popularity.
