@likelyjanlukas @VintageEdmonton One can only image the story behind the story. 1952, so it's quite possible our young travelling saleswoman had never been on a plane before. Get this fabulous opportunity to fly to the next town instead of take a bus, have the most exhilarating experience of your life, stumble out onto solid ground, looking around still in awe, no idea of the extreme danger of the propellers. Maybe the pilot yells out to her "watch out", but she jumps in the wrong direction…

Yes, quite likely. Even today there are terrible things that happen around aircraft by people who failed to pay attention or forgot some critical thing for their own protection.

Either way, still very sad. 😢
