I think it was @IkkleGemzUniverse who mentioned finishing the #kdrama #TwinklingWatermelon and liking it. I just finished episode 10 and have some thoughts.

  • Choi Hyun-wook's role in #TwentyFiveTwentyOne was so great, and I can see why they offered the lead role in this. He is an adorable, energetic ball of joy. I hope he keeps getting good roles.
  • Ryeoun's character grates on me, but I think that's on purpose. He acts very patronizing towards his parents and peers, like he is the only capable adult. But I think that is key to his character growth.
  • Seol In-ah is an actress I confuse with Kim Ji-won often, and when I saw her in #ABusinessProposal I thought she was much closer to 30, yet here she plays an 18yo. She is 27 in real life!
  • Shin Eun-soo's character, up until episode 10, really felt quiet and empty with no internal dialogue or thoughts. She seems MUCH younger than Seol In-ah's character, even though they are all supposed to be 18yos. Both she and Choi Hyun-wook are the youngest, at age 21.

Episode 15: aka Jill ugly cries

#kdrama #TwinklingWatermelon

I love how much of this series focuses on the experiences of Deaf people and learning Korean Sign Language. But it shows that the director is a hearing person because the sign language is too often just out of frame.

@jillithd yeah it was me that finished it 😂. Interesting to read your thoughts on it 🙂
