Turns out not every all-consuming headache is a #migraine
I though it was an umbrella term for a larger category of pain…feelin kinda dumb lol
So glad I figured this out before they started mindlessly throwing some hip new migraine pharmaceuticals at me
It’s definitely #cervicogenicheadache
Anyone have #cci #neckbrace favorites? recommendations? I’ve given up looking a few times now the flood of options is so overwhelming😵‍💫

@whyarewe I'm the opposite, I've been assuming my migraines are headaches. Turns out I have suffered through waaaay more than the 3 a year average I've been telling people.

I am here for the hip new migraine pharmaceuticals. Gimme.

@Aerliss lol that’s what I started out thinking too! Until one time someone got mad at me for bailing on plans bc of a “headache” (what I called it at the time) and to resolve we both started asking third parties if they would have attended this subjectively important event with a headache.
A few people answered something like “my headaches are always migraines so no” / “plain headache maybe but not a migraine” …blew my mind and also felt so validating😆

@whyarewe that was why I thought they were headaches; because they were mild. I thought it was only a migraine if I got the aura and collapsed 😅

But talking with my doc & the headache specialist I've learned that migraines can be mild, & even occur without aura & other symptoms.

My first lightbulb moment was learning that most people don't get more than a couple of headaches a year. Like... damn, I get one a week!

And now I have chronic migraine. Literally hasn't stopped for three months.

@whyarewe some people who have never experienced a debilitating head pain just have NO idea what it's like. To be in so much pain you can't think, and every movement makes it worse. Just sound can make it worse.

I'm glad you got some validation. Saying no is self care, damnit.
