I'm curious how many of you have never heard back on a full submission? Do you nudge them or just write it off?

@wendyparciak I just write it off, honestly. It happens too frequently for me to want to chase down individual publishers looking for a hard no.
@wendyparciak I nudge after the 3-month mark if it's an agent. If it's a press/publisher, then I let it go.
@wendyparciak i've always heard back on fulls, but a few of them took 2ish years only to get form rejections
@VRicciThode Wow, that's a long time!
@wendyparciak that was during the height of the pandemic, when response times were at their worst. i quit querying about a year ago, so i don't know if it's actually improved, but i've heard it's at least a little better, though i do know one author who got ghosted on a full
@VRicciThode you can increase that total to two, as I gave up on one full after waiting more than a year!
@wendyparciak the author in question nudged after a year but didn't hear anything. i think it's been over 2 years now for them. the industry is really brutal
@wendyparciak Never got that far! 😂
@DarkeConteur Not hearing back on a full is almost worse than not hearing back on a query. Hard not to get one's hopes up!
