Rollleaf has Rollled

Getting ready for the new job tomorrow (Quick, I know!) has me thinking about how hobby is going to fit in around us returning to work, tiny heading to nursery, and her just growing up. All positive things, but I want to make sure I leave myself space for this thing that keeps my head right and brings me joy. While I think through that, I treated myself to brushes and a Silver Bayonet Creature that’ll be perfect for something in #Frostgrave.

I’ve included some synthetic brushes from Warbases range, as I’d like to make the swap, but I’ve really not enjoyed using any I’ve had before, but I feel like that’s about the quality of the brushes I’ve used. Have had a good toss about morally with this, who knew paint brushes would bring up so many philosophical quagmires for me. 😂

@rollleafd my FLGS stocks Army Painter brushes, they're synthetic and I quite like them.

@mhalila I’ll pop them on the list if these one don’t do the trick. The brushes I’ve had off Warbases before have been excellent, so I’m just hoping it carries through into their synthetic range.

Whilst I definitely get less time to paint with two young ones, I'd have to agree that the small amount of time I do get does help with my mental health.

It gets a bit easier as they get a little older and more independent, but the first few years can be rough.

@StryderNotavi sorry somehow I thought I’d replied and realised earlier today that I hadn’t then a tiny human shaped emergency happened 😂

I feel like no the 3-5 I am letting myself have each evening so far is really doing wonders.

Easier is always welcome, though, I have used the lack of independence recently to put a paint brush in her hand hand guide it on the mini for a base coat, so who knows maybe I’ll regret it getting easier 🤣
