in 2018 #Carillion collapsed spring the #Tories to commit t a major overhaul of the UK's #corporategovernance.

Five years on:

The proposal to strengthen the explicit responsibility requirement on directors has not happened.

The under-performing & weary run Financial Reporting Council remains un-reformed.

And the #Audit sector (subject of widening criticism) also remains largely untouched.

So, just more #Tory declaration #politics with no actual action; Why's that? you might ask

@ChrisMayLA6 Ooh! Ooh! Pick me! Pick me! 🙋‍♂️I think I know this one...

Is it because the people they serve, i.e. their donors, don't want the inconvenience of having to be honest and because there are no votes in it?

Also because constantly tweaking the NHS and education system with half baked ideas and persecuting homeless people *does* get votes from the cohort of voters they had to claw back from UKIP and they are terrified of losing them again if they're not evil enough? 🤔
