On October 17th, the institute formally responded to the U.S. Copyright Office's recent inquiry regarding #AI systems and their impact on #copyrightlaw and #publicpolicy (U.S. Copyright Office, 2023, Aug. 30, "Artificial Intelligence and Copyright", Federal Register, 2023-18624, Document ID COLC-2023-0006-0001). Our six-page response incorporated our editorial board's recent discussions around this topic, our published guidance for integrating AI with secure #SDLC, and related open-source and open-content licensing concerns.
