@blogdiva My thought is that a lot of what is done is deliberate but unconscious - that is, they made it *comfortable*, they made it parse and fold into their own value systems. And that also involves also a lot of hubris, in terms of their own sense of erudition relative to the unwashed masses who certainly could not have comprehended it but by their sainted efforts.
