Overnight I watched director Hou Hsiao-hsien's 1986 film 'Dust in the Wind' (戀戀風塵), and the cinematography is nothing short of exquisite.
This is a crappy screen-shot with my phone camera, but hopefully it gives you a sense of the style and mood - presumably somewhere on Taiwan's north-east coast.
Another screen-shot from the film - the father of one of the two main characters has just come out of hospital after injuring his foot, and caught the train back to their village. The family is walking him back home from the train station across this bridge - they are shown as tiny figures crossing the suspension bridge.
I think this is somewhere near Shifen in what is now New Taipei City, then Taipei County.
