and how to save it? no how do i kill it faster

@EeveeEuphoria *nodds in agreement*

#Windows needs to die so #Linux can finally & deservedly own the #Desktop as it does the #Server and #Embedded market for decades now!

@Techaltar should see this as an opportunity - like   going  is the opportunity for the  and  ...

@kkarhan @EeveeEuphoria @Techaltar

Windows is dying because the desktop is.

If there was a way to wring out more money out of desktop computing Microsoft would surely go there.

But today everyphony is into mobile.

You can write office letters on a chromebook, and people likely will because it's cheaper to give their data to cloud providers, short term.

There will still remain some special purpose workstations, and some even on actual desks. It won't be what the average Joe User would have.

@hramrach @kkarhan @Techaltar you say chromebooks but chromebooks have long since been dead in the professional field, specifically because they aren't PCs

and chromebooks are dying in schools too if only because google seriously fumbled the bag when it came to supporting classrooms, with their services seriously lacking compared to the competition
@EeveeEuphoria @Techaltar @kkarhan It may not be the brand but the principle holds - it provides access to the cloudy business tools, and that's what vast majority of people uses - if they even use anything beyond social media.

@hramrach @EeveeEuphoria @Techaltar TBH it'll only be a matter of time till #Microsoft will kill One-Time - Purchase - if not #Software entirely since #SaaS and #Cloud makes them way more money at way better margins and less cost.

Compared to #Microsoft365 / #Office365, #Azure / #HostedExchange & #XboxLive / #XboxGamePass, #Windows and #Office are money loosers...
