Hmmm, go all-in on a MacBook Pro M3 Max, replacing a Mac Studio M1 Max and keeping the M1 mini as a mere emergency backup? Or replace the Mac mini with a MBP M3 Pro and keep the Studio as the primary machine?
If only my history with Apple laptops were less disappointing. The Titanium was nice and all, but ludicrously expensive as well, had tons of flaws and died prematurely. The 12" PowerBook was super cute, but underpowered and constantly had its fans on. My last MBP was a 2009-ish (?) MBP with underpowered nVidia graphics, which rendered the machine kind of useless far too soon β and it died soon after (fried nVidia chip π)
First hot takes on the new machines throw some shadow on the M3 Pro versus M2 Pro: less P-Cores, less RAM bandwidth. So depending on your workflow there might be little to no improvement over the M2 Pro, which makes refurbished MBPs very attractive again ;). Damn. Itβs never easy, is it?
