My notes on a campaign and rereading #RenegadeLegion Leviathan critically have blossomed into a blogpost's mass of words. https://yadzcb.friestman.net/rll-a.html I vacillate, redesign from first principles, or change the least, or play it absolutely straight as designed. No good answer. But many thoughts on the design of the game. #miniaturewargaming #wargames #wargaming
Renegade Legion Leviathan, an Analysis and Suggested Corrections | "Yet another dropzone commander?"; a Blog

Renegade Legion Leviathan is a 1989 FASA game of capital ship combat. I dive deep into the rules and try to make sense of it all, making notes along the way on what would have probably been modified if it had seen a second edition.

@Slyphic "I believe Leviathan was designed with a goal of integrating Inteceptor pilots and fighters and even whole squadrons into play. Where you could pause a game of Leviathan and resolve combat between Fighter squads using Interceptor."

IRC, FASA did a similar thing with BattleTech. There was BattleTech, AeroTech and BattleSpace, and rules for integrating them together, so you could potentially play all three together across three tables.

@BryanRombough There was a lot of cross pollination between the two.
#Battletech was 85, Aerotech 86. Then #RenegadeLegion was 87-92. #Battlespace was 93. And one look at its sheet and you can see it's a direct successor to Leviathan and the Legion games.
IIRC, the Total Warfare book combines them all like Legion did.
