some days i’m like “i’m a person who can function in regular society” but then a leaf blower starts going
@loren although, one could argue that leaf blowers DO NOT BELONG IN ANY SOCIETY.
I share your anger.
@WillCOPhoto @loren Rakes. Scythes. Lawncare should be heard for chatter, not for machinery.
@WillCOPhoto @loren I support a full ban on leaf blowers holy shit they're stinky and noisy and what do they do? They just blow leaves! And kill everyone else's lungs and brain cells over it!
@loren I have to leave the neighborhood.
@loren In case you don't yet know it, the sort of passive earmuffs designed to protect the ears of people in a shooting range tend to be pretty good against industrial noises.

@loren

I'm convinced there's such a thing as leaf blower addiction.

@loren today I was unfortunately one of the leaf blowers, but I try to make more use of a broom and dust pan. I do public works stuff in my downtown area, and the leaf piles are unfortunately full of trash and end up clogging the storm drains or becoming micro plastic cigarette dirt in all the nooks of the lame impervious “environment” if not removed. I hope to get my coworkers to use brooms and rakes more cause leaf blowers are indeed shit and unchill. But when the man sees you peacefully sweeping they think you aren’t working hard or efficiently enough cause it isn’t loud and terrible like work is supposed to be
@loren I do wonder if people protested utility engines like they protest wind turbines today
@loren I swear to god, I hate leaf blowers with every fibre of my being. Absolute rage.
@loren they tested the alarm system while I was at work today. Pure torture
@loren "regular" is doing a lot of work here. You're not the problem here.
@loren Rakes are the natural enemy of cartoon villains-- using leaf blowers will make our society ever more vulnerable to takeover from cartoon villains [checks news] oh no
@loren This is exactly how I feel about roundabouts 🥹
@loren This is why dogs bark at vacuum cleaners.
@loren We live half off the grid in the Spanish countryside. Last week was spent in Belgium visiting family. The noise was dreadful and exhausting. Our relatives didn't seem to notice. I guess you can get used to noise if it is more or less permanent, but the quiet is one reason we live where we live.
