On this day in 2014, Alan #Eustace, a pilot who was at the time a senior VP at #Google, broke the world record for the highest flying human as part of project #STRATEX including the highest stratospheric dive & longest free fall, previously established by Felix #Baumgartner in 2012.

Eustace using a scuba-dive-like Pressure Suit Assembly designed by #Paragon was "dropped" from a 11 million cuft #balloon from 135,897 feet to reach a speed of 820 mph during a fall which lasted 4 min and 27 secs

@Ohsin Yes. The Tata Institute for Fundamental Research Balloon Facility provided the balloons for Eustace's jumps, for some of the tests on Baumgartner's jump, and for the unfortunate last flight of Julian Nott (the accident that took his life was not balloon-related).
