Y'all might know that I'm a fan of the Osborne One but I'm beginning to believe that the Compaq Portable III was peak luggable. I wouldn't mind something in that form-factor into which I could transplant the guts of my tower PC.
🖥️
Though, I do like my ultrawide monitor. To keep that I'd need a ~32" wide luggable. 😸

@trevorflowers what about the IBM 5100? My school had one, and it was my first computer. Had a hardware switch that determined whether you booted into APL or BASIC!
@ripple Dang, that's an absolute unit! I didn't realize until I read the Wikipedia page it was released eight years before the Compaq Portable.
@trevorflowers “portable” had a different meaning in those days 😬

This was always a favorite of mine. Today, even the broken ones command an impressive price.

I had heard somebody wanted to take detailed measurements and try to recreate it in CAD for 3D printing, but that's a whole lot of filament for my tastes...

The Samsonite Boss is 80×41×37 cm, and you can have both landscape and portrait orientation of the screen 😁

@trevorflowers I had a Sun Voyager on my desk for a while, a long time ago. Lovely machine.

Foldable big monitors is the real goal of foldable phones.

A phone sized, or phone computer, and foldable big screen is the lugable.
