Whelp, I did the thing.

#Starfield

Gonna start playing after dinner. Any thoughts I have will be CWed. Any spoilers I post will be minor and also CWed.

Whelp, found my first #Starfield Glitch:

I picked up a side quest that required I travel to a planet and speak to a contact. Found the contract right by the landing sight, but they won't talk to me. I tried reloading, leaving the area, even quitting and restarting. No joy.

Others report all sorts of weirdness around this quest, including the issue I am seeing.

The name of the quest: Failure to Communicate.

Can't make this stuff up.

Link contains quest spoilers. Not related to main story.

Failure to Communicate - Bug?

I am unable to talk to Alban Lopez, pressing E triggers nothing he just stares at me. Has anyone encountered this / know a fix?

So about 20 hours into #Starfiled. Really digging the game so far. It was a slow start, mostly due to a fairly boring and convoluted tutorial mission. After a few hours though I really found my stride and started enjoying the game a bit more.

Playing today, I did one of those random missions you pick up from an overheard conversation. Turns out to be the most fun mission of the game so far! And I got a bad ass ship for my efforts.

Sadly, I also got stuck on a boring diplomatic mission right after that. I"m almost done with it, so hopefully the reward is worth it.

I think after I deal with this boring diplomat mission in #Starfield, I'll had back to to the story line quest for a bit. I have not touched that in a while :D

I have not posted about it as much as I anticipated, but after 3.5 days of game play, I have finally finished #Starfield at level 45.

Trying to decide if I want to dive right into a second run or give it a break.

Interesting thing I've noticed in #Starfield: With all the bathrooms I've seen on countless planets, ships, and stations, I have yet to see one with gendered labeling.

Lots are labeled WC though, so it seems British/European vocabulary survived the jump to space.

I think I have found the most frustrating mission so far in #starfield It is a stealth mission in a game with horrible stealth mechanics.

Let me set the scene:
Its dimly lit
There room is foggy
I'm in the catwalks far above eye level
My sneak is maxed out
I'm wearing a stealth suit with a bonus to sneak

I still may as well be wearing a high-viz vest with a flashing strobe on my helmet. I swear that the NPCs are all cross bread with cats and or eagles.

I have come so close to throwing my controller across the room several times. There is no way I'm doing this faction ever again.

Had a couple of funny interactions in #Stanfield yesterday.

First, I stealth killed a rando spacer from up on a ledge with a silenced gun. The spacer nearby saw their companion drop and said, "I never liked him anyway."

BRUTAL!

Second, I was walking around New Atlantis when a USC security guard randomly says, "Our files indicated that you have quite the background in computers. It also has a bunch of smiley faces. USC Security does not like being hacked."

I wonder if that was a Cowboy Bebop reference....

@EddiKat I never had too many issues with stealth but it may be because I was either solo or with Andreja (she had stealth specialty). I also saw a video where they said that the equipped weight impacted the sound detection.
