Just to reestablish my tech credentials - I did Big-O notation in my BSc (~30 years ago), I really don't remember doing theta and omega, and since then I've been focussed on OSes, storage, networks, clustering and a bit of coding, then into DevOps
I did publish a book on Shell Scripting (which is coding, really) without this; maybe that it could have been a better book if I'd grokked these at the time, but it's not something that's come into my day-to-day work life too much in the last few years
